May is here, temps are warming up, and Friday is Cinco de Mayo (which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza)! Celebrate Mexico's big win with some tacos , chips & queso, and margs (obviously )!!

1. Michigan Antique Festival
A Michigan tradition for 55 years! This weekend head out to Springfield Oaks for this awesome event! The festival will be open from 8am-6pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday. Admission is $10 per person, with children 11 and under admitted for free. There is free parking available on site. Fun for the whole family - Don’t miss it!
2. Bowling Fundraiser for John Pilchowski
Head to Classic Lanes for their next fundraiser on Wednesday 5/10 to support John as he battles cancer. If you would like to support please feel free to arrive at 4:30pm to check in at the door if you wish to bowl or just come for the raffles. Many amazing items to be won. $20 - includes 3 hrs of bowling, shoes, pizza and pop or $10 if you'd like to have pizza and pop. All proceeds will go to the Pilchowski family to assist with expenses.
3. Downtown Rochester 2023 Farmers’ Market OPENING DAY!
Head downtown Rochester Saturday between 8am and 1pm for this great event! Opening Day festivities will include:
- FREE Farmers’ Market Tote Bags with special offers from Downtown Rochester businesses and farmers’ market vendors for the first 500 adult customers.
- A giveaway for the kids, while supplies last.
- Live music from 10 am – Noon.
- Ascension Providence will be giving away FREE children’s bike helmets (while supplies last).
- Enter-to-win for gift certificates donated by Downtown Rochester businesses.
4. Home Depot In-Store Kids Workshop
Saturday from 9am to noon, Home Depot will be hosting their kids workshop! This event is FREE but requires registration and you can do that here.
5. Toddler Days at the Farm
Upland Hills is having Toddler Days on Tuesdays! $9/each (12 months and under are free). This is a self-guided visit to the farm. Come explore with your children. Visit the new baby animals and play on the farm property. Watch the farmers feed the animals at 9:30am and a hayride goes out at 11:00am. The concession stand will not be open but visitors are welcome to pack a picnic lunch.
