It's August! Soak up summertime and head to these fun local events!
These are Macaroni KID Lake Orion - Rochester Hills - Oxford's picks for the five things to do with kids this week. Click on the links for all the details:
1. Stream Science
Thursday at 10am or 1pm, come to Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm and cool off in Stoney Creek with hands on activity kits! While you splash around, you can use nets, magnifying glasses, bug boxes, and more to learn about the critters that call the creek home. Staff will be on site near the creek with available supplies. Limited kits available on a first come, first serve basis.
2. Downtown Oxford Concerts in the Park - siXft Apart, Bucket Drumming
Thursday evening head Downtown Oxford. At Centennial Park siXft Apart will be playing some great tunes and there will be Bucket Drumming! Grab your friends, family, blankets, chairs and snacks and head to this fun FREE event!
3. Lake Orion's Big Rig Gig & Food Truck Festival
Celebrate the Big Rig Gig 20th anniversary with Orion Township Parks & Recreation at Friendship Park on Friday, August 4 from 5-9 pm. Free Admission!
4. Donut Be Afraid of Bugs! Classic Bugs on Wheels Experience
Tuesday at 11am and 6pm in Festival Park at the Village, Nadia aka “The Bug Lady” will give you an up-close and educational experience with a variety of bugs! You will get the chance to learn about many different exotic insects, touch a tarantula, come face to face with a praying mantis, hold the largest species of millipede in the world, and much more! Learn about why these creatures are to be respected for their role in the ecosystem, and not to be feared! The Little Donut Factory will be selling donuts on-site.
5. FREE Family Movie Night - Vivo at Wildwood Amphitheater
Wednesday at 7pm, head out to Wildwood Amphitheater for a FREE Family Movie Night! Bring your chairs, blankets, or whatever you need to get comfy on the hill to watch Vivo! There will be food and drinks for sale on site.
