Top 5 Local Things to Do this Week! November 9 - 15

By Krista Nesbit, Publisher, Macaroni KID Lake Orion - Rochester Hills - Oxford November 7, 2023

We are two weeks away from Thanksgiving! I don't know about you, but I am holding out on the Christmas decorations until then. No judgement though... Santa is officially making appearances nearby so more power to you if your halls are already decked! Happy *almost* holidays!

These are Macaroni KID Lake Orion - Rochester Hills - Oxford's picks for the five things to do with kids this week. Click on the links for all the details:

1"Peter and the Starcatcher" at Oxford High
Oxford High School Performing Arts presents "Peter and the Starcatcher"! There are numerous show times to choose from so get your tickets HERE!

2Friday Night fLipOut
Friday night kids ages 9+ should head to fLipSpot Lake Orion or Rochester for a night full of fun!

3. Dinovember Dino Day at Orion Township Public Library
What better way to celebrate DINOvember than at the library?! This fun interactive program for K-5 will feature activities, experiments, and crafts all centered around our enormously fun friend, the dinosaur. This Friday at 2pm!

4. RARA Holiday Craft and Vendor Show 2023
Saturday from 10am-2pm, join us for a Craft and Vendor Show of about 40 booths! Both handmade and non-handmade items will be sold. Admission is free, but raffle tickets will be sold to benefit RARA SCAMP (a special needs summer camp).

5. Intergenerational Storytime with Orion Township Public Library and Pomeroy Living
Tuesday at 10:30am, Little Lit hits the road for a special event including the residents of Pomeroy Senior Living! We welcome caregivers and children ages 0-5 to join senior residents for a storytime, encouraging social interaction between generations. Librarians will read stories, sing songs, and provide a snack, craft, and social time for all attendees. Intergenerational programs come with many benefits for both children and seniors, including decreased loneliness, delayed mental decline, and new connections, along with increasing the amount of smiling and conversation among all involved! Registration is required and you can do that HERE

When visiting events and local businesses, please tell them Macaroni KID sent you... and please don't forget to tell all your friends!
