We are one week away from Thanksgiving! The holiday hustle and bustle seems to be kicking off this weekend so bundle up and check out one or ALL of these fun events.
These are Macaroni KID Lake Orion - Rochester Hills - Oxford's picks for the five things to do with kids this week. Click on the links for all the details:
1. Lake Orion Tree Lighting and Sing & Stroll
Thursday at 5pm, head to Children's Park for this magical annual event. The evening will start off with performances by Broadway Dance Company and the Lake Orion High School Choir & Dance Teams followed by the Tree Lighting and then Carolers. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be there along strolling for photo ops! Grab a complimentary cup of Cocoa and roast marshmallows over an open fire manned by our favorite Boy Scouts! Lastly, when the event is over ride the horse & carriage will the carolers stroll through Downtown.
2. Light the Village!
The Village of Rochester Hills is once again kicking off the most wonderful time of the year on Friday, November 17, 2023 with their annual Light The Village holiday celebration. The outdoor shopping center will be covered with over 800,000 dazzling-colored lights and offer an evening of family-fun entertainment. The event will delight folks of all ages and include holiday music and entertainment, delicious food, a spectacular fireworks display, and Santa Claus’s first appearance for 2023!
3. Canterbury Cocoa Crawl
This weekend the annual Canterbury Cocoa Crawl is back! Step into a scene out of a holiday movie in the beautifully decorated village and enjoy delicious warm cocoa at over 10 stops! Just $2 per Person at the Door. There is nothing better than the rich flavor of a warm handcrafted hot cocoa! Each small shop of Canterbury Village will feature their own unique, handcrafted cocoa concoction for you to sample as you enjoy the quaint ambience of the decorated grounds! There will be plenty of sweet combinations for the entire family to enjoy and even some cocoa cocktails for the adults to enjoy at The C-Pub. The shops will also once again be competing for the Best Cocoa Award, which will be voted on by all attendees.
4. Lagniappe & The Big, Bright Light Show
Monday evening is Lagniappe & the kick-off of The Big, Bright Light Show downtown Rochester! They will flip the switch at 7pm and the light show will continue to be aglow every night from 5pm to midnight through January 7, 2024! Make sure to bring your cameras because kids will then have the opportunity to share their Christmas lists with Santa from 7:15 – 9pm.
5. Blake Farm's Holiday Extravaganza!
Tis the season to be jolly at Blake’s Holiday Extravaganza! 
Kick off the holiday magic with a day of shopping, festive cheer, and twinkling lights. For a truly magical experience, visit the original farmhouse for a photo with Santa or head to Orchard Square for cozy igloo dining, and steaming hot beverages. The excitement peaks with Blake’s annual tree lighting in Orchard Square on November 18th at 6:00 pm, accompanied by carolers and live music. Plus, keep the little ones entertained with free children’s crafts and face painting, and create lasting memories with our Santa Experience. It’s a holiday extravaganza you won’t want to miss!
